The McCarty Family has been in the Collision Industry for over 60 years. The journey started when Mike McCarty, the owner, started in the industry by wielding a broom at the age of 15. Mike spent several years learning the business from the ground up, wearing every hat hands on, like painter, manger, and even insurance adjuster. Mike would establish his first shop in the 1960's, Competition Paint and Body in Pasadena. Mike's next shop, Castle Body Shop, a Ford dealership shop, would be the origin of the family business with 3 of Mike’s children getting involved in the business. The McCarty’s spent 17 years servicing the customers of Hollywood Ford, and were even acknowledged by Ford Motor Company with the prestigious “Medallion Award” for quality and superior customer service, an award only given to shops performing in the top 2% of Ford Dealer Shops.
In 1992, Mike had grown tired of the long daily commutes from the family’s hometown of Upland, to Hollywood. He decided to bring his years of experience and commitment to service closer to home. Mike, along with the help of his wife Jackie, and lead by his daughter Kelly, opened Carty’s Collision Center in Ontario. Kelly, having now assumed the lead role, would establish Carty's as the go to shop in the greater Ontario area.
Kelly would be instrumental in bringing industry training to the inland empire through I-Car classes, always looking to better not only Carty's, but the industry as a whole. Kelly would also eventually be an integral part of the industry overall with her involvement and leadership within organizations like California Auto Body Association, and the Collision Industry Conference.
After 30 years of working in the auto body industry, Kelly would seek new challenges in the energy sector. Leaving the management of the family business to her brother Chuck, himself a 20 plus year veteran of the industry.
For 20 plus years, Carty’s has served Ontario and the surrounding areas of Upland, Chino, Montclair, Rancho Cucamonga, Alta Loma, Mira Loma, and Eastvalle. Customer Service and quality repairs have always been our core values since the beginning for Carty’s Collision Center. As we approach 25 years of business, we still hold that to be true.
